You can sign up as a Sleep Walker to receive a shirt if you don’t want to participate in the race. Shirts are $20.
Online registration will be available until 11:59 pm on Thursday, October 5. If you would like to register after this date, registration will be available on Friday, October 6 at New Balance Tulsa in Utica Square or you may register on race day morning from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Tulsa Zoo. There will be a registration tent located in the front circle drive near the zoo entrance.
2017 Packet Pick Up
Race packets can be picked up at the New Balance Tulsa in Utica Square, on any of the following days:
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30
Noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2 – Friday, Oct. 6

Packets will also be available for pick-up race morning at the Tulsa Zoo beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Join us at our H.A. Chapman Event Lodge for the post-race hospitality party, which will include the St. John Kids Club, face painting, jupiter jumps, and MORE! Runners will have access to food and beverage provided by Tulsa area establishments.
At the conclusion of the races, you and your family are welcome to enjoy the zoo for the rest of the day!
All 5k and 10k race finishers will receive a ZooRun finisher medal at the finish line.
Children participating in the St. John Fun Run will receive a specialty finisher ribbon at the finish line.
The top male and female finishers in the 5k race and 10k race will receive special prizes.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 males and females in the standard age groups for the 5k race and 10k race.*
*Awards will be mailed out to award recipients after the race results are official. Expected delivery time is within two weeks after the conclusion of the run.
The 5k and 10k races are certified by USA Track & Field. The courses wind through Mohawk Park and end inside the Tulsa Zoo. The St. John Fun Run takes place entirely on zoo grounds.
You MUST be inside the Mohawk Park gates and parked by 8:20 am. The gates close at this time for the safety of the runners. No exceptions and no refunds will be given due to late arrival. Gates will re-open at 10 a.m.
To avoid race day congestion, you can access the main zoo parking lot by using the alternate zoo entrance. You will turn on North Winston Avenue which is just west of Yale Avenue off of East 36th Street North. Winston Avenue merges with Mohawk Boulevard. Follow Mohawk Boulevard around the golf course directly into the zoo parking lot. Sheridan experiences the most traffic; East 36th Street North also can be accessed via Harvard and Yale avenues.
If you need to leave the parking lot before the main gates to Mohawk Park re-open, please utilize the alternate entrance route and park at the west end of the main zoo parking lot. Once the races have started, you will be able to exit out this way.
What is ZooRun?
ZooRun is THE family-friendly race in Tulsa. With a 5k, 10k and St. John 1-mile FunRun, there is a pace for everyone. ZooRun is the second-oldest running event in Tulsa and sixth-largest race in the state.
How do I register?
Tulsa Zoo Admissions Office during regular hours, or, beginning Saturday, Sept. 30 at New Balance Tulsa at Utica Square.

Am I guaranteed a t-shirt?
All runners registered prior to Sept. 28 are guaranteed a t-shirt. Otherwise, all t-shirts and t-shirt sizes are available on a first come, first serve basis.
What is a Sleep Walker?
Sleep Walkers are those individuals who would like to support the zoo, but don’t want to participate in the ZooRun. You can pay $20 and receive a 2017 St. John ZooRun shirt.
Can I push my baby in a stroller?
Yes! Strollers are allowed in our 5k and 1-mile FunRun ONLY. Please stage yourself at the back of the pack for the safety of the other runners. You will not need to register your child as long as they stay in the stroller for the duration of the race.
How is the race timed?
The 5k and 10k run will be timed using electronic timing. All runners and walkers in these races will need to wear a timing device to receive a time and finish result. Your bib tag will already be attached to your race bib number. Please attach your race bib number to the FRONT of your shirt. Bib tags are for one time use only.
Are the start lines and finish lines near each other?
No. Starting lines for all races are located near the front entry of the Tulsa Zoo. The 5k and 10k races end near the Helmerich Playground. The St. John Fun Run finish line in at the penguin exhibit.
Can I run the St. John Fun Run with my child and then participate in the 5k?
Yes, but please note that the St. John Fun Run finish line and the 5k start line are located on opposite ends of the zoo. No refunds will be given if you are late to the 5k start line.
Why do the gates close at 8:20 a.m. for parking?
The gates close at 8:20 a.m. on race day for the safety of the runners. The 5k begins at 8:30 a.m. in Mohawk Park, so all cars need to be parked at this time. No exceptions and no refunds will be given due to late arrival. Gates will re- open at 10am. If you need to leave the parking lot before the main gates to Mohawk Park re-open, please utilize the alternate entrance route and park at the west end of the main zoo parking lot. Once the races have started, you will be able to exit out this way.
***Please allow at least 20 extra minutes to your normal drive for race day traffic.
Can I qualify for the Tulsa Run with my ZooRun time?
Yes! Run a qualifying time in the ZooRun 10k for a guaranteed spot up front at the Tulsa Run 15k.

Can my family come to the zoo to cheer me on?
YES! Until 10 a.m., families can enter the zoo for free to cheer on runners at the finish line!
