City of Tulsa Hosts 23rd Creek Clean-Up Event on May 6

The City of Tulsa’s Stormwater Division will host its 23rd Annual Creek Clean-Up Event this  Saturday, May 6. The clean-up event this year will focus on Dirty Butter Creek and Osage Trail.

Volunteers can register for the event online or by contacting the Tulsa County Conservation District at (918) 280-1595 or tulsaccd@conservation.ok.gov.

When:  May 6 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where:  Individuals participating in the clean-up event will meet at the Tulsa Educare, 3420 N. Peoria Ave.

Volunteers will help pick up trash along the stream and trail, so individuals are encouraged to wear outdoor clothing. Participants will receive light snacks and lunch provided by Rib Crib and Tulsa Young Professionals. An educational presentation and door prizes will also be provided.

The City of Tulsa aggressively takes action to improve the health of Tulsa streams through surface water quality monitoring and enforcement programs, infrastructure improvements, the watershed characterization program and public education programming.

Sponsors for the event include: Pepsi, Rib Crib, Tulsa County Conservation District, Tulsa Area Conservation Foundation, Tulsa Educare, Tulsa Zoo and Tulsa’s Young Professionals.
