Tragelaphus angasii

This mid-sized antelope will both graze (feed on grasses) and browse (feed on woody twigs and leaves).

A young male retains coloring similar to the female’s until he reaches sexual maturity; this affords him the safety of the heard without provoking the dominant bull. Today over 80% of the total population is protected in national parks and sanctuaries, mostly in South African protected areas.
