Tulsa Zoo Starts Learning Program

Tulsa Zoo is starting a new learning program in 2023 – zoo school. The programming, which is aligned with Oklahoma state teaching standards, connects children in kindergarten through fifth grade with nature and inspires curious discovery of wild places around the world.

In its 53rd year, the 2023 Ascension St. John ZooRun presented by CommunityCare is proving to be a popular event for many in the Tulsa community. Among the runners are students, teachers and parents of Town and Country School, a school that accepts students with learning disabilities, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Tulsa Zoo Mourns Loss of Southern White Rhinoceros

Tulsa Zoo is sad to announce that Jeannie, the zoo’s 43-year-old Southern white rhinoceros, was diagnosed with cancer and humanely euthanized by the veterinary care staff on Monday, April 17, 2023.

Tulsa Zoo celebrates 53 years of family run fun with 2023 Ascension St. John ZooRun Presented by CommunityCare, scheduled for Earth Day, Saturday, April 22. The event will include a 5k, 10k and the Ascension St. John 1-mile Fun Run. Runners may choose from in-person or virtual options.
