Zookeepers will be celebrating Big Al’s birthday on Saturday, June 15 during the 11:30 keeper chat with enrichment. Or come out at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 16 for a Father’s Day party at the Aldabra tortoise exhibit with keeper chat and enrichment. It will be a weekend of shellabation!
The Tulsa Zoo has successfully hatched 161 Aldabra tortoises since 1999 and is world renowned for the successful breeding of the second largest tortoise species. Guests can see several tortoise hatchlings in the reptile nursery on the Conservation Center.
