TULSA, Okla. (Aug. 31, 2017) – Make tracks to join the pack during the 48th annual St. John ZooRun at the Tulsa Zoo on Saturday, Oct. 7. Tulsa’s family-friendly race features a 5k and 10k, plus the St. John 1-mile Fun Run.

Admission for the whole pack is part of the fun! Until 10:00 a.m., family members of participants can enter the zoo for free to cheer on runners at the finish line. After the race enjoy this year’s hospitality area with St. John family activities, face painting, Jupiter jumps, and more.

For 48 years, the St. John ZooRun has benefited the Tulsa Zoo. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Building Beyond Your Wildest Dreams capital campaign, funding new exhibits like Lost Kingdom. Registration before Oct. 1 is $30 for the 5k and 10k, $25 for the St. John Fun Run. Sept. 29 is the last day to pre-register to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

The 5k and 10k races are certified by USA Track & Field. The longer race courses go through Mohawk Park and end inside of the Tulsa Zoo. The St. John Fun Run takes place entirely on zoo grounds.

Whether you are a strolling tortoise or a racing hare, there is a pace for you at this event. The annual run event would not be possible without our generous sponsors, including title sponsor St. John Health System, a part of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and nonprofit health system; packet pickup sponsor New Balance Tulsa; individual sponsors, Linda Brown – Real Estate, and Robert E. Patterson; water stop sponsor, Admiral Express.

For the safety of the runners, the gates to Mohawk Park will close at 8:20 a.m. but will re-open to the general public at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7. For more information, visit tulsazoo.org/run or contact the zoo at (918) 669-6602.
