TULSA, Okla. (Feb. 2, 2018) – The Tulsa Zoo is adding shade structures for guests and an exit portal for the new Lost Kingdom exhibit complex. Part of the exhibit will be closed to the public Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, to complete the installation before the busy spring season.
During the five days of closure, the zoo will add new shade structures to the Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Company patio. An exit portal will be constructed, following the path from the Aldabra tortoise exhibit.
Zoo guests will be able to enjoy the main Lost Kingdom building and the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation Red Panda/Binturong Exhibit and Aviary next week.
“The exit portal and shade structures were part of the overall Lost Kingdom design,” says Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Engagement Lindsay Hutchison. “The zoo is delighted to offer these additions to enhance our guests’ experience.”
All other exhibits will be open during this time, including: Robert J. LaFortune WildLIFE Trek, Rainforest, Helmerich Sea Lion Cove, Conservation Center, and Mary K. Chapman Rhino Reserve.
