Tulsa Zoo Helps YOU Plant for Pollinators
Friday, May 12, through Sunday, May 21
TULSA, Okla. (April 25, 2017) — For the second year in a row, the Tulsa Zoo will be hosting a pollinator plant sale on Friday, May 12, through Sunday, May 21. Plants will be available at the gift shop, located at the front of the zoo.
Each of the 15 available plant species have been selected by our horticulture staff to be beneficial for pollinators. Pollinators — such as butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees — are necessary for the well-being of may plants and crops, so it’s important to provide them with the necessary resources.
As part of the Monarch Initiative of Tulsa, the Tulsa Zoo works to increase the creation of habitats for the Monarch population. Growing a garden with plants for pollinators just makes beautiful sense.
