TULSA, Okla (Aug. 25, 2014) – The St. John ZooRun presented by New Balance Tulsa is THE family-friendly race in Tulsa. The zoo’s annual run will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014. The annual event features a 5k, 10k, Tiger Challenge and St. John 1-mile Fun Run.
Whether you are a strolling tortoise or a racing hare, there is a pace for you at this event. In its 45th year, the St. John ZooRun presented by New Balance Tulsa is the second-oldest running event in Tulsa and the sixth-largest race in Oklahoma.
Family members of participants can cheer on runners at the finish line, enjoy family friendly activities and spend the day at the zoo after the race. This year’s hospitality area includes the St. John Kids Club, jupiter jumps, educational activities and more.
Registration is available at the zoo, New Balance Tulsa or online at www.tulsazoo.org/run. Packet pick-up is available at New Balance Tulsa in Utica Square through Oct. 3. Prices will increase on the day of the race.
The St. John 1-mile Fun Run begins at 8:15 a.m., the 5k begins at 8:30 a.m., the Tiger Challenge begins at 8:45 a.m. and the 10k begins at 9 a.m. Warm-ups will be led by St. John, and they will begin at 7:45 a.m. For the safety of runners, the gates to Mohawk Park will close at 8:25 a.m., but will re-open to the general public at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4.
