TULSA, Okla (Aug. 25, 2015) – Join the Tulsa Zoo for the 46th annual St. John ZooRun presented by New Balance Tulsa, set for Saturday, Oct. 3, at the zoo. Known as the family friendly race in Tulsa, this annual event features a 5k and 10k race, plus the St. John 1-mile Fun Run.
Whether you are a strolling tortoise or a racing hare, there is a pace for you at this event. The St. John ZooRun presented by New Balance Tulsa is the state’s second-oldest and sixth-largest race.
Until 10 a.m., family members of participants can enter the zoo for free to cheer on runners at the finish line. Family members and participants can also enjoy family friendly activities, including the St. John Kids Club, inflatables, educational activities and more.
Registration is available at the zoo, New Balance Tulsa or online. Packet pick-up is available at New Balance Tulsa in Utica Square from Sept. 26 through Oct. 3. Prices will increase on Sept. 26 and on race day, Oct. 3.
The St. John 1-mile Fun Run begins at 8:15 a.m., the 5k begins at 8:45 a.m. and the 10k begins at 9 a.m. Warm-ups will be led by St. John, and they will begin at 7:45 a.m. For the safety of runners, the gates to Mohawk Park will close at 8:30 a.m., and re-open to the general public at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. Proceeds from this year’s St. John ZooRun presented by New Balance Tulsa will benefit the Building Beyond Your Wildest Dreams capital campaign, which funds the zoo’s 20-year master plan.
