Dominant males develop brilliant blue colors when sexually mature which distinguishes them from the green/brown shades and blue overtones of the other geckos.

The turquoise dwarf gecko is native to a 5 sq. mile area of the Uluguru Mountain foothills in Tanzania. It makes its home exclusively on Screwpine trees. One male, one (or more) females, and several juveniles live in the leaf crown of one tree where they eat insects and fruit nectar.
