Seasonal Camps
Tulsa Zoo hosts a variety of educational camps throughout the year including Spring Break Camp, Summer Camp and Fall Break Camp.
Join us on wildlife adventures while we explore the world around us, make new friends, and celebrate nature! All summer camps feature age-appropriate programs, tours, games, creative projects, up-close animal encounters and so much more!

When selecting a camp for your child, please choose the grade that coincides with the grade they will be entering in the 2023-2024 school year.

Single Day Camps
Classic Critters – Monday, July 3: Register
What’s your favorite classic children’s book? Is it about a very hungry caterpillar? Or maybe a fish covered in rainbows? Explore all of the animals from your favorite children’s literature with us this summer! We will discover the real life animals that inspire some of our favorite reads.
Fabulous Felines – Monday, July 3: SOLD OUT
We are PAW-sitive you will love our feline friends! Join us as we prowl through the Zoo learning about our Fabulous Felines.
Sensory Safari – Wednesday, July 5: Register
Can you see like a hawk? Can you hear like an elephant? Animals have amazing abilities to hear, see, smell, touch, and taste. Come and explore all of the sense-sational animals at the zoo with us and test your senses against theirs!
Awesome Adaptations – Wednesday, July 5: Register
From our largest mammal to our smallest reptile, we have some wonderful wildlife. Join us as we explore the zoo and learn about the Awesome Adaptations of our favorite zoo animals.
African Adventures

Lions, giraffes and rhinos! Oh my! Join us on an adventure through our spectacular savanna. We will learn how savanna animals live together in the grasslands.
Survival Sense

Get ready to uncover the secrets of how animals detect the world around them! We will have a sense-sational time as we smell, see, hear and touch our way through the zoo, discovering new things in the same way as the animals that we encounter.
Keeper Camp

In this one-day Keeper Camp, you will learn what it takes to become a zookeeper and have an opportunity to put that information into practice as you learn about and help care for some of the zoo’s education ambassador animals.
CSI: Zoo – Thursday, July 6: Register
Wildlife forensics is a relatively new field of criminal investigation. In this one day camp, campers will use scientific procedures to examine, identify, and compare evidence from mock crime scenes. Campers will use this evidence to identify suspects and solve wildlife crimes.
All crime scenes are staged by camp staff and no animals are harmed in this camp.
Made of Light – Friday, July 7: Register
Ever wonder what makes a firefly glow in the dark? Did you know that a scorpion glows green under a special light? These are types of bioluminescence which is the emission of light from living things. Explore the amazing world of things that glow – in and out of the dark!

This class is all wet! Join us for waterlogged days about oceans, lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. Learn about the diversity of animals and plants that call water home from Oklahoma all the way to the oceans. Water play for the campers is also included during the week!
Aquatic Biology

Explore the wide range of aquatic habitats and the living things that call them home. During this week, campers will learn about the diversity of plants and animals found in our oceans, lakes, rivers, and ponds.
**This camp concludes the week with a scientific dissection of a small fish to better understand how animals live and breathe in water.

A Zoo Designed by You
June 19-23: Register
Learn the four basic needs that every animal must have to survive, and how those needs translate into exhibit design and animal care at the zoo. During this exciting week of camp, your skills will be put to the test when constructing your own zoo model designed just by you!

Do you think you have what it takes to be a zookeeper? Find out everything that is involved in taking care of the animals at the zoo. You will even get to assist with caring for some of the education ambassador animals!
July 17-21: Zoo Careers – Register
Who works at the zoo? Explore the various people and positions required to run a zoo and connect with some of the professionals at the zoo that help support and promote animal conservation in the wild.
Animal interactions and tours in behind-the-scenes areas are included with this camp, but campers will not assist in the daily care of zoo animals.
