Forsten’s Lorikeet

Trichoglossus forsteni

Found on a single Indonesian island, this formerly abundant nectar-feeding parrot has undergone an alarming population decrease, attributed to trapping for the pet trade. It is identifiable by its dark blueish head contrasted by a lime green nape and a deep scarlet or orange breast.
