Red-Crested Turaco

Tauraco erythrolophus

The turaco has copper-containing pigments in its feathers. This means it is truly red and green, which differs from most birds whose feathers just reflect that color. Its preferred habitats are woodlands and forests where it is able to feed on available fruits, nuts, seeds and invertebrates.
