Emerald Tree Boa

Corallus caninus

These tree-dwelling snakes use their brilliant green coloration to hide from predators. The ability to camouflage also helps while hunting. A sit-and-wait predator, they coil on a branch and strike out as their prey move along the tree. Long, inward-facing teeth allow them to catch fast-moving prey and keep it from escaping.
