Red-Billed Firefinch

Lagonosticta senegala

Adult males have scarlet plumage and brown wings, while females are completely brown. They are a victim of brood parasites as the village indigobird will lay their eggs in the firefinches dome-shaped nests. Chicks leave the nest within two weeks and become fully independent within a month after that.
