Red-Fronted Macaw

Ara rubrogenys

Until the 1970s, this parrot was known only from a few old museum specimens. After that, many were captured and exported around the world until this became illegal in 1983. Hundreds have been bred since then in the U.S. including the Tulsa Zoo. There is international support for conserving those still wild in Bolivia
