Epaulatte Shark

Hemiscyllium ocellatum

These small sharks are known for their unique ability to “walk” using their fins. This helps them move easily across coral reefs and sandy bottoms in shallow water. Primarily nocturnal, they feed on invertebrates like worms and crabs, using their keen senses to locate prey. They can survive in low-oxygen environments, such as tide pools, by selectively routing blood to essential organs.
