Glossy black with blue-purple feathers, the male of this species is flashier than his blue-green mate.
The scientific community struggled for many years to classify this bird as it shares characteristics with orioles, drongos and other songbirds. Rarely seen on the ground, this bird’s feet are very small in comparison to its body.
