Beautiful Fruit Dove

Ptilinopus pulchellus

Fruit doves are an ecologically important part of the rainforest environment because they swallow fruit whole and, after digestion, drop the seeds, an essential part of reforestation. Living in pairs, both parents share in caring for the young birds, called squabs.
