Sitatunga

Tragelaphus spekii

The sitatunga is a semi-aquatic antelope uniquely adapted for life in African swamps and marshes, with splayed hooves and flexible joints that allow it to traverse muddy terrain effortlessly. Despite being relatively common in their wetland habitats, these shy and elusive animals are among the least-studied of Africa’s large mammals.
