The Lion King VIP Experience To Benefit Tulsa Zoo

Tulsa Zoo is partnering with Disney’s The Lion King musical for a special fundraiser at Tulsa’s Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

“This is an amazing opportunity for families to enjoy the stunning performances of The Lion King while raising money for the real-life animals that inspired the iconic story,” said Tulsa Zoo Vice President of Philanthropy Megan Meussner. “From meerkats to lions, the African animals at Tulsa Zoo will benefit greatly as we continue our journey toward becoming a world-class zoo.”

Proceeds will benefit William S. Smith African Wilds: Carnivores complex, which is expected to break ground in 2023. The project will provide a much-needed new home for the zoo’s African species, including lions, painted dogs, meerkats and Diana monkeys. In addition, it will introduce pygmy hippos and bring back a favorite of zoo guests, zebras.

Patrons can choose from two unique packages. The first package, called the Serengeti Patron Package, costs $150 per person. The package includes orchestra seats, a children’s gift, a sweet intermission snack and drink, and a special photo opportunity with the Tulsa Zoo animal mascots.

The second package, called the Savannah Premium Package, costs $250 per person. The package includes a build-your-own gourmet macaroni and cheese bar plus unlimited wine, beer or specialty cocktail before the performance, orchestra tickets, a children’s gift, a sweet intermission snack and drink, and a special photo opportunity with the zoo animal mascots.
