Tulsa Zoo to Celebrate WALTZ World Tour Presented by COUNTRY Financial and Barnes Construction Solutions, Inc.

WALTZ World Tour presented by COUNTRY Financial and Barnes Construction Solutions, Inc. will take place from 7-10:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at the Tulsa Zoo. WALTZ, which stands for We All Love Tulsa Zoo, will be celebrating three regions our animals call home: Asia, North America and the Arctic Circle.
“For 34 years WALTZ has been bringing people together to help build a bigger, better Tulsa Zoo,” said Tulsa Zoo Vice President of Philanthropy Megan Meussner. “We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure this is a one-of-a-kind event. Guests will be able to sample bites from some of Oklahoma’s best restaurants beneath the glow of paper lanterns in Asia; sip on a signature cocktail from the comfort of an inviting igloo in the Arctic Circle; and dance the night away along the banks of a bayou in North America with live entertainment provided by King Cabbage Brass Band.”
Proceeds from this year’s WALTZ World Tour presented by COUNTRY Financial and Barnes Construction will support William S. Smith African Wilds capital campaign. This project will replace the outdated 1964 cat grottos and provide a much-needed new home for the lions, painted dogs, meerkats and other African species at Tulsa Zoo. Additionally, the project will introduce pygmy hippos and bring back zebras.

WALTZ started in 1990. Since its inception, it has helped fund many exhibit projects benefitting chimpanzees, Aldabra tortoises, jaguars, African penguins, as well as the Lost Kingdom Exhibit Complex and the Mary K. Chapman Rhino Reserve.

Special thanks to our event co-chairs Katelin and Kevin Boyd and Elizabeth and Garren Taylor, as well as the many patrons who have made WALTZ possible. Our Co-Presenting patrons are Barnes Construction Solutions, Inc. and COUNTRY Financial.  Our Major level patrons are David and Jenny Lamb, Hardesty Family Foundation, The Helmerich Trust, Nabholz, Oklahoma Chiller, Senior Star, The Mervin Bovaird Foundation and the Zink Family Foundation.
With WALTZ 2024 being a record-breaking year for dollars raised, the Tulsa Zoo is looking to break another fundraising record. Event information is available at waltzworldtour.org and capital campaign information is available at buildingbeyond.org.

The main entrance is closed. All guests will need to use west gate to enter the zoo.
