San Esteban Chuckwalla

Sauromalus varius

An example of island gigantism, they are the largest of the five species of chuckwalla and are considered the most endangered. Once, they were introduced to other islands as a potential food source, but those populations did not survive. They are currently only found on the island of San Esteban.
